Rive Roshan
A deep interest in colour, texture and materiality leads to an aesthetic of raw beauty.
Rive Roshan is the artistic practice of Ruben de la Rive Box and Golnar Roshan. The two partners started their careers in several high profile designer studios including Tom Dixon, Marcel Wanders and Tord Boontje. Working alongside some of the most prolific product and interior designers Ruben and Golnar formed their vision of a holistic approach towards design, bridging graphic, interior and product design disciplines and blurring the lines between design and art.
At the core of the studio’s development are the self-initiated research based projects, exploring visual wonder as a means to beauty, and the role of design in emotional well-being. Rive Roshan create to connect with people intuitively. Through experimental processes they design immersive spatial experiences, materials and object that enrich lives. A deep interest in colour, texture and materiality leads to an aesthetic of raw beauty.
Their Colour Shift panels are reflective, coloured patterned glass panels designed to add a palette of colour to spaces. The pieces disperse light through rippled reflective surface creating a blended dimensional palette of colour. The pieces visually shift creating different visions from different perspectives. The pieces work as artistic objects for spaces and have been created with the intention to be used in larger scale interior and architectural contexts.
Their Colour Wheels objects create an interplay between layered coloured glass and light. The kinetic nature of the sculptures allow the wheels to overlay in different areas creating multitudes of visual compositions.
